The boys continued their winning ways yesterday - sweeping Vassar and are now at 20-3, having won 13 in a row. Speaking of 13, Jay Jay Vanderstyne was a wrecking crew yesterday with a 3 for 4 and 3 RBI's in game # 1, and 3 for 5 with 6 RBI's in game # 2, including a GRAND SLAM in the 4th inning to get UR started with a 4-0 lead.
Blair Veenema had another strong outing pitching a complete game on his way to a 5-0 record.
Nate Stein also had 3 hits and Blayne Fuke chipped in 2 hits in a 9-1 victory!
In game # 2, Pete McEneaney had a no hitter through 6 2/3 innings and "Baby" Ned Chanatry finished it up with 2 innings in relief in a 22-1 victory.
The offense had 20 hits, Kloc, Stein, and Francis, joined Vanderstyne with 3 hits, Brien, Fuke, and Cannon added 2 hits a piece. The hits included doubles by Vanderstyne (2), Cannon, Kloc, Fuke, and Francis, triples for Nate Stein who had 2 and Dave Kloc, and Dan Brien added a 2 run homer, to join Jay Jay in the long ball category.
The games today are @ UR starting @ 1:00 PM, giving a little extra time for field prep as it rained last night and early this AM. There were also snow flakes swirling around this morning!
The games were moved to RIT due to a track meet, and then moved back to UR, when the track meet was cancelled!
Thanks to the Sullivans for the sandwiches and the Cacciolas for the gatorade, and as always Gretchen Brocks for the delicious cookies.
See you at the ballpark!
