The team overall played well against a lesser opponent, many got an opportunity to play and in game # 2, some of the pitchers even pinch hit.
In game 1, Paul Toland got the win in relief of Chris Olsen. The hilites of the game were Dave Kloc and Ed Kahovec taking the ball deep for homeruns. Something that the UR faithful had not seen in a very long time, 2 home runs in the same game by the UR squad. Jay Jay Vanderstyne, Nick Cacciola, and Steve Just all had 2 hits apiece in the 7-3 win!
Game 2 turned into a blowout, "Baby" Ned Chanatry got the win in relief of Luke Brocks. Dan Brien led the way with 3 of the total of 16 Rochester hits. The final score was 23-3 and it was pretty ugly as Keuka had 7 errors in the 7 inning game to go along with 10 walks given up by the Keuka pitching staff. Andy Cannon homered in the contest and had 5 RBI's and 5 runs scored. Greg Larioni, David Kloc, Steve Just, and Pat Locke had 2 hits a piece.
The team is currently at 12-3 and faces Liberty League foe Union this weekend. Due to the impending rain on Friday, the games have been moved to Saturday and Sunday. Due to a track meet at U of R, the Sunday DH will be played at Union!
I forgot to mention in the last post - the Fuke family provided for food at the St. Lawrence games. Thanks Mike and Jan!
The Vanderstyne family provided food for today's games against Keuka. Thanks Jay and Julie!
See you at the ballpark!
