2 weeks until Florida

Only 2 more weeks until Florida - can you believe that it is almost here?

The boys have had a little time off this past week due to midterms - hopefully, they all came through with flying colors!

I am sure that they will be working hard to prepare over the next 2 weeks, the upstate NY weather is not expected to be anything but cold with flurries over the next week, so getting outside in Florida will be very welcome.

I will again email out the parents contact list at the end of this week along with the list of those travelling to Florida, hopefully for the final time, if I have gotten it all right!

I look forward to seeing all those travelling to Florida very soon. It should be a great week with lots of baseball and fun in the sun!

It will be interseting to see how the pitching matches up and who pitches which game(s). It is a lot of baseball in a short time, so pitching is very important. We will need quality starts and good bullpen support throughout the week.

I have been following some of the teams we will face in this season - Emory is currently 4-2, Case is 1-3, Brandeis is 2-3, Washington University will have 6 games scheduled between now and the UAA tournament and Cortland is 1-3 which is a little surprising to me! Cortland is scheduled to play RPI and Clarkson in Florida during the week we are down there. Ithaca travels to California for their spring trip.

So everyone is gearing up for the season.

12 more days until Opening Day in St. Pete, see you there!

See you at the ballpark,

Ed

Just a note to anyone that is interested, and Ed, I know you already know about this website. There is a website
www.D3baseball.com
that has numerous topics and information about Division 3 baseball, basketball, football, soccer. There is a 'message board' for each sport that covers all conferences, regions, and pretty much everything else that you may want to share or get information on. Some lively discussions and debates do go on. The participants are very knowledgable, or at least they think they are. It is worthwhile for the new Yellowjackets parents.

See you all in Florida, and yes, I will have "The Book!" Travel safe.

There is a link to the D3 website on the right side of the blog. I use it all the time and find it to be very imformative!
