The Jackets ABC team opened defense of their title with a win over Sleep City, who they beat for the Championship last year.
The positions were interesting - Blayne at 3B, Nate at Short, Dan Pfohl at 2B, and Jay Jay at first. Tyler Reed was in left, Liberty League player Dan Ludwig from St. Lawrence was in center. Mike Zollweg - UR Alumus was in right and another UR Alumnus Steve Foley was on the mound. Eddie was the DH and Justin Long coached first base for several innings. Gabe Chodak made a relief appearance to close out the win for the Jackets!
Coach Coble was in attendance along with several of the parents.
On another note, Pete McEneaney made his professional debut the other night for the Traverse City Beach Bums and pitched a 1-2-3 ninth inning, including a strikeout for the final out. Way to go Pete, congratulations!!!
Eddie leaves for Germany on Thursday, we will miss him, but are planning a trip in August!
