It is hard to believe that we will be playing baseball at the end of this week! The first time outside is in an opening day game vs. Drew in Tampa! I am looking forward to a change from this upstate NY weather!
I am sure that the team is looking forward to actually playing outside also! The fieldhouse is great for working out due to the weather, but there is nothing like the smell of the grass, feel of the dirt, and having to adjust to sun, wind, etc. in a real game situation. They have a very challenging schedule this upcoming week, and this week can set the tone for the entire season. Especially, with 4 Liberty League contests right out of the gate. Skidmore is the defending Liberty League Champion and they have designs on repeating as Champs, with a lot of returning players from last year's team. Hopefully, we will put a beginning of the season crimp in their plans!!
Thanks to Julie and Jay Vanderstyne for hosting a team brunch yesterday at their house.
Looking forward to renewing our UR baseball family relationships, and welcoming new parents into our baseball family! I have missed you all, looking forward to seeing those of you that are able to travel in Florida, hoping to meet everyone new to the program at some point during the season, if not in Florida! The season is so short, with a lot packed in, and at the end of this week it begins!
Go UR Baseball!!!
5 days until Opening Day!!
See you at the ballpark,
Ed

Hate to put a damper on you, but it's nice and SUNNY about 80 here.
