Baseball team supports basketball team

The UR Mens Basketball Team has a very big homecourt advantage at the Palestra. There is a student section called the Hive, and its most vocal and loyal inhabitants are the members of the UR Baseball team. They cheer on the basketball team with great enthusiasm. There are pictures of recent UR games on Democrat and Chronicle.com, which is the local Rochester, NY newspaper, look under photo galleries, and D3hoops.com where a running blog during a recent game noted that the blogger had never heard a crowd as loud as the UR crowd at a recent game. There are many pictures of the crowds on both websites, take a look and perhaps see your son enjoying the game.

Coach Neer has spoken on the microphone, a few times this season, a first in his 32 years @ UR. He thanked the students, and told them that sleep was overrated, and to be there @ noon on Sunday.

The basketball team has been ranked # 1 in D3, during the season and beat then # 2 Brandeis, then lost to Emory, dropped to 3rd and then beat # 1 Wash U. All of these teams are in the UAA. Baseball is just as competitive, as we play the UAA tournament in Florida.

Just a little over a month until Florida, hope many of you can make the trip! For those who cannot, I will try to update you through the blog, so keep watching!!

I searched the Democrat and Chronicle website www.democratandchronicle.com and couldn't find the photos. It looks like they don't archive them on their website.
