My son told me that the roster was set at 27 as of Friday. In less than a month, the team will be in Florida, competing in the UAA tournament, 4 Liberty League games, and a non-league contest. Unless the weather in upstate NY changes drastically over the next few weeks, the first time the team gets outside is in Florida. The team has the most challenging schedule in Florida, that I have seen. No days off, play the first morning, and 4 Liberty League games against last year's League Champion will certainly indicate what type of team this will be coming out of Florida!
I will be working on the parent contact/email listing and contacting Coach in regard to the shirts this coming week.
Now that the roster is set, welcome to the Rochester Baseball Family to all the new players and parents. I have already been working out positions, batting orders, and pitching matchups in my head, and the good news is that it isn't easy, there will be competition for playing time in many positions. It will all boil down to who is hitting and who is not.
As far as the pitching staff, there are some new faces, which is very good! This team will need every arm available, especially in Florida.
Overall, I think the team looks very solid on paper. This could be a very good year for Rochester Baseball!!
See you at the ballpark - Go Jackets!
