Four years?...already??

As the parents of senior pitcher Steve Guzski (aka"Goose"), we'd like to also extend a warm welcome to all the freshmen, transfers and their families. It seems like yesterday we were the new kids on the block and were welcomed into UR baseball by so many of the nice families that preceded us (and now we face the "parental" end of organized baseball). It makes a difference in the overall experience, really deepens it, and we want to offer the same to all interested families; whether you can only make it to Florida, one game or every single game depending upon where you live. If you are rooting for UR, then we want to count you as one of "us" and get to know you and your son a little better.

Just one word of advice to the new families: you may recognize us (the ones with the UR garb on, those that seem to know many others, etc.) before we know who you are, and I think there may be as many new families this year as those returning. So, here's the advice: please don't hesitate to introduce yourselves and join in the fun. You may notice that the team will gel quickly - all typically great, smart kids who play outstanding baseball...and we'd like the same for the families - if you are interested, of course. I have found over the past 3 years that UR typically brings the largest contingent of fans, who appear to be having the most fun together (of course, we win about 75% of the time, so that helps !!). We invite you to join in the fun to the degree you want - "the more the merrier" as they say. Looking forward to meeting you in Florida, Rochester, or where ever our paths may cross during the season.

Sincerely, Steve and Beth Guzski

PS - We aren't a cult, we just act like one sometimes. : )

We're Jon Menke's parents - Mark Menke & Nancy Cooney. We are looking forward to joining the Rochester family and meeting everyone. We will be in Florida, and we are planning a couple of weekend trips from the Chicago area to Rochester to watch the team play. We're looking forward to a fun season, knowing Jon will do whatever is needed in order to do his part, whatever that may be. I had the pleasure of getting to know Rich Cannon and we look forward to reconnecting with everyone that we met in the fall.

Hello everyone, All the UR baseball parents new and existing. Reading your comments gets the entire baseball expienence stirred up again.
All the comments are the truth and should be followed by the new parents say hello, introduce yourselves and get to know the "fans" other parents. Some of us are louder than others but don't be frightened, step up and make the bond!

We are ready to continue the team spirit with all the food for the players and fans. Let's start the season on the right track in Florida with team wins and parent fun!

Steve, maybe the reason some may think we are a cult is because you keep handing out the blue
Kool Aid in the yellow cups!!
And,we did check Brittany Spears schedule and it seems as if she won't be in the area this year.
Oh well, it will still be fun.

GO JACKETS!
