Word Verification When Posting
FYI - I had to turn on word verification since spammers were adding comments; hopefully this will help. After you post a comment, you'll have to enter one of those goofy word codes. You'll see what I mean when you go to publish. Guess we have more fans than we want. Have fun all in Florida. I'm still jealous!

Hey everyone!
Just got back from Miami yesterday and I want March to get here quickly! Can't wait to go back to Florida and see everyone and see what the Yellowjackets will look like for 2010. Heard they practiced at 530 AM this morning. It's cold and snowy here in Rochester. Boys will be inside until Florida and then they hit the field running literally! If they get any decent weather they will get on the turf football field and practice including long toss and fly balls.
Great to see the posts starting to heat up and everyone adding comments to posts. Keep it up throughout the season it helps us all to keep in touch.
Rich Cannon also posts on the D3 website, which has a listing for the Liberty League, Upstate NY College baseball, and National topics and has comments about all teams and Leagues.
Hope all is well, see you soon at the ballpark!!

Glad to be here
Hi to the Rochester baseball family. I am Mark Menke and my wife is Nancy Cooney. We're the parents of Jonathan Menke, one of the incoming freshmen for 2013. We are looking forward to rooting for the team and watching Jon begin his college career, particularly with a team such as we have at Rochester. From what we saw in the fall, this should be a fun filled year. We will be in Florida an we are planning on coming to a couple of the weekend doubleheaders.

Posting on This Blog
Hello parents!
My name is Patti and I am the parent of a UR graduate, Ryan Sullivan, and am already missing the camaraderie of the parents and players. I started this blog three years ago to help parents communicate. Anyone can reply to posts on the blog but if you want to start an original post, then you will need to create a google account and you will also need to send an email to either Ed Kehovac or me (Patti Sullivan) so we can give you permission to post.
Good luck to the team and enjoy the season. It goes by way too fast!

Four years?...already??
As the parents of senior pitcher Steve Guzski (aka"Goose"), we'd like to also extend a warm welcome to all the freshmen, transfers and their families. It seems like yesterday we were the new kids on the block and were welcomed into UR baseball by so many of the nice families that preceded us (and now we face the "parental" end of organized baseball). It makes a difference in the overall experience, really deepens it, and we want to offer the same to all interested families; whether you can only make it to Florida, one game or every single game depending upon where you live. If you are rooting for UR, then we want to count you as one of "us" and get to know you and your son a little better.
Just one word of advice to the new families: you may recognize us (the ones with the UR garb on, those that seem to know many others, etc.) before we know who you are, and I think there may be as many new families this year as those returning. So, here's the advice: please don't hesitate to introduce yourselves and join in the fun. You may notice that the team will gel quickly - all typically great, smart kids who play outstanding baseball...and we'd like the same for the families - if you are interested, of course. I have found over the past 3 years that UR typically brings the largest contingent of fans, who appear to be having the most fun together (of course, we win about 75% of the time, so that helps !!). We invite you to join in the fun to the degree you want - "the more the merrier" as they say. Looking forward to meeting you in Florida, Rochester, or where ever our paths may cross during the season.
Sincerely, Steve and Beth Guzski
PS - We aren't a cult, we just act like one sometimes. : )

And so it begins...
Welcome to the 2010 baseball season. First day of practice is today. Looking forward to Florida and some warmer weather!! The 3 amigos ( Me, Rich Cannon, and Jeff Caghan ) will be putting together a parent contact list, the annual parents dinner in Florida, ( see previous comments ) and anything else that we parents come up with to support the team.
There will be food involved - always! We have done cookouts and provided food for the team between doubleheader games. Everyone has been very supportive in whatever we have come up with. What would you like to see this season?
Me - Liberty League Tournament Championship and the automatic NCAA bid that comes with it.
Not too much too wish for is it?
Nina says hi to everyone!
See you soon at the ballpark!!
