Come on people - blog about your summer

I was hoping to see a little more activity over the summer, but I guess we are all busy. The weather here near Rochester has had a great deal of sporadic rain. Driving down 490 from sun into a torrential downpour and back onto dry pavement within 10 miles.

Eddie has finally reconnected with the internet and is available through the following email: ekahovec@gmail.com. also check out Grasshoppers.de, but you will need a translation site like babelfish .com to get any idea about what is going on, unless of course you can read German! He continues to enjoy himself in Germany and soon he will have company, as we will travel across the big pond to visit. Chris will not be able to travel due to his commitments for his internship at Disneyland in California, but everyone else is going. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see my son play in Germany. We leave on the 5th, Andrew and I will return on the 20th, and Nina and Michael will return on the 28th.

Andrew has been playing in a summer league for both baseball and basketball, and is lifting for football. Michael is just enjoying the summer after his rec baseball season ended and before football camp next week.

Nina and Michael travelled to California for 1 1/2 weeks to visit Chris, so by the end of the summer I will classify them as the world travellers of ther summer of 2008!

I hope this finds all of our U of R family enjoying the summer in good health!

Debbie Mc - emailed us on Peter's first professional win!!!! Way to go Pete, we are all so proud of you! You can check out Traverse City Beach Bums on line for more info.

There is much more going on I'm sure - so please share and keep in touch with vacation plans, baseball updates, etc!!!

Beth - I'm looking for Tomato Pie in the fall!!

I got an email a while ago from a father of an incoming freshman, his name is Jeff Caghan and his son is Alex. He is a recruit who visited during the Vassar weekend, and has committed to U of R. His Dad had several questions - the usual stuff - what is Joe Reina like, how is the league, fall ball, spring trip, time commitment, etc. They are very excited to have their son attend U of R. Please welcome them into our family in the fall!! We all remember what it is like to be freshman parents, the time flies by so quickly, I still am adjusting to the thought that Eddie is a college graduate. I also wish that he was going back in the fall!!

Plan on seeing us in the fall at some point, and if anyone is coming into town, please let us know about any get togethers that are planned or that pop up on the spur of the moment. We'd love to see you all!!

Have a healthy, happy, and great summer.

See you at the ballpark!!
