Dog Days of August

Baseball is over for a short while for the Kahovec family. Eddie finished the summer league with the Jackets as they advanced through the losers bracket to win the Championship of this ABC League. Andrew also advanced through the losers bracket of his summer league, but ended up losing in the quarterfinals.

It was great to see many of the local families supporting their sons during the summer. We saw the Lockes, Longs, Infurnas, Fishbacks, Vanderstynes, and Klocs this summer. Hope I didn't forget anyone??

Andrew is starting football - 9th grade already, where does the time go? Eddie went to Long Island last weekend with Chris Olsen to visit Mike Park, Devin Shane, and Pete McEneaney, among other UR friends.

There was a nice write up on the UR website about Pete, Blair Veenema, Ryan Sullivan, and Paul Toland and their summer leagues. Nice to see some off season recognition, as we all know too well, that there really is very little off season for our boys.

I am looking forward to fall ball and the start of Eddie's senior season, but it also comes with some sadness, as it is his senior season. This year we will have a lot of senior leadership, as there is a large senior class graduating in May! I am hopeful that they go out with something memorable from their last season of College baseball!

I heard that the spring trip will include some games in Tampa prior to the UAA tournament in Sanford.

Hope you all enjoy what is left of summer, see you this fall or next spring!!
