Today's game against Brockport has been postponed, with no reschedule date available yet.
I will be updating the email list this week, when you receive my next email, I hope to have a more complete distribution list.
It was nice to see many of you at the games on Sunday. I will usually be wearing a yellow, yellowjacket ball cap, so stop by to say hello. I am notoriously bad with names, but promise to get better as the season progresses. To that end, and to help other parents get to know each others names, I will be requesting names, addresses, etc in my next email. Then I will add all this information to the old list and try to keep it updated.
Ken - I support you 100%, let me know if there is anything you would like me to do. I think it is great that the kids help to maintain their field, but this weekend was above and beyond, and they could have used additional help. I would even volunteer to help maintain the field when necessary, but I would like to see a little more support from the UR staff.
Thanks more to come later this week, including thoughts from the 2 games against Skidmore!!

More updates - Brockport game may be played on Thursday, but I don't have official confirmation yet!
I am working on the parent contact list and will update the email listing by the end of this week.
News from the UAA website - the 2007 all tournament team had Jim Bard and Ed Kahovec on the 1st team and Frank Infurna and Devin Shane on the 2nd team!!
Congratulations to all!!
Random thoughts about the 2 Skidmore games from this past Saturday - Field conditions were bad and much has been written about this - I felt bad for Jim Bard when he slipped and fell while trying to make a play!!
We did not hit in the 1st game, plain and simple, and at times this season we have been aggressive on the basepaths and potentially run ourselves out of innings.
The 2nd game was great, what a comeback. It was so great to see the faces of the kids after they came back, held on and when Blayne got that hit to score Frank, everyone was so excited!! Except for the Skidmore parents and players.
I honestly believe that if we were fortunate enough to play 2 additional games against them, we would beat them both times. They split with us, but you would have a hard time convincing me that they were better than our boys.
I think that our pitching will only get better as the season progresses and it gets warmer outside. John Fishback has done a very good job so far this season, and I am very encouraged by the freshmen who have stepped up.
Blair Veenema started the 2nd game after a bout of food poisoning landed him in the hospital this past week.
We had a good turnout of supporters for the games on Sunday!! Thanks to everyone who came and also to the brothers and sisters who supported their siblings.
So, what did others think about the Skidmore games??
Also, most recent D3 baseball rankings have Cortland # 3, Emory # 4, and Brockport # 22. We are playing some very good competition this season!!
Congrats to Jim, Ed, Frank, and Devin!!!!
Update - no game against Brockport tomorrow!
